The SBA requires borrowers with loans over $150,000 submit their first draw loan forgiveness application to the SBA before they can submit a second draw loan forgiveness application.
If you do not want to claim any forgiveness on your first draw loan, but you do want to claim forgiveness on your second draw loan, you will need to submit a forgiveness application for your first draw loan requesting $0 in forgiveness before you may proceed to complete and submit a second draw forgiveness application.
You can access your first draw loan forgiveness application through your account at my.scratch.fi under "My Loans" or "Loan Forgiveness." To request $0 in forgiveness through your first draw loan forgiveness application, you will need to proceed through the application but enter $0 in the fields for your payroll and nonpayroll expenses. You will see alerts that you are applying for $0 forgiveness, but you will still be able to submit your application.
After you submit this application to Scratch requesting $0 in forgiveness, we will review your application and it will be sent to the SBA. Scratch will notify you via email when it's sent to the SBA and you will then be able to start and submit your second draw loan forgiveness application.
In this situation, after the SBA reviews your first draw forgiveness application the SBA will issue a "denial" of your first draw forgiveness (meaning, you will receive $0 in forgiveness).
