A disbursement is when a portion of your loan payment is distributed to your school or you, the borrower, in parts based on your loan agreement. Students typically receive their loans in two or more disbursements. Generally, the school will disburse your loan by crediting your student account. This means that your school will use your student loans to pay tuition and fees.
